NEC Receives Donations from UNMIL November 28th, 2016
The United Nations Mission in Liberia, UNMIL has donated four Pre-Fab single units or Cogym to the National Elections Commission (NEC)
The four Pre-Fab single units presented to the NEC came from a request made by the Commission to the UN Mission in Liberia.
According to the NEC, the Pre-Fab single snits will be used by the Commission as offices to host International and Local Consultants during the 2017 General Elections.
The Chairman of NEC, Cllr. Jerome G. Korkoya in a communication send to the Special Representative of the UN Secretary General in Liberia, Dr. Faid Zarif also indicated that the four Cogym Units will be used for the hosting of the Information Technology Infrastructure of the National Voters’ Register as well as Election Result databases.
The donation was presented on Monday, November 28th at the headquarters of the National Elections Commission by UNMIL representative Mr. Sholan Fernando.
Receiving the donation on behalf of NEC, the Coordinator for Technical Services at the Commission Mr. T. Ernest Kruah praised UNMIL for the gesture, adding that it will address some of the most urgent and important needs of the Commission.
