The National Elections Commission (NEC) has declared the winners of the December 20, 2014 Special Senatorial Election.

The NEC made the declaration Saturday at a news conference to announce the final results and winners of the election.

In a statement to announce the results, the Chairman of the NEC, Cllr. Jerome G. Korkoya, said all counties have completed their tally process and have reported 100 per cent.

“Results from all 4701 polling places in the country have already been counted and tallied. The recorded voter turnout for the election is 479,936 which represent 25.2 percent of the total number of registered voters in Liberia,” Chairman Korkoya stated.

Chairman Korkoya disclosed that the certification of winners of the 2014 Special Senatorial Election will take place on Saturday, December 3, 2014, in the James M. Fromayan Conference Hall at the headquarters of the Commission in Monrovia.
