STATEMENT OF THE CHAIRMAN OF THE NATIONAL ELECTIONS COMMISSION (NEC), HON JAMES M. FROMAYAN
FOR THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF PROGRESSIVE RESULTS OF THE 2011 ELECTIONS

Ladies and gentlemen of the Press:
The National Elections Commission (NEC) is pleased to update the Liberian people about the latest tally figures of results of the 2011 Legislative and Presidential results. Yesterday the Commission informed you that 737 out of the 4,457 polling places nationwide.
In continuation of the announcement of progressive results of the elections, I shall now proceed with the latest results as have been tallied and collated at the tally center.
§ PROGRESSIVE RESULTS FROM TALLYING
We are pleased to report that results from 2,242 polling places have been received and processed the tally center. The recorded turn out for polling places which have reported stands at 70.2%.
From the 2,242 centers which have reported, here are the results for the Presidential and Vice Presidential Elections:
Due to the long list of candidates on the ballots for the Senate and House of Representatives, the Commission will only announce results of the first three candidates in the lead in the senatorial category and the first two candidates in the lead in the House of Representatives category.
Please be advised that detailed reports will be distributed at the end of the press conference.
