(Monrovia; Wednesday, July 13, 2016); The National Elections Commission (NEC) in collaboration with the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) will on tomorrow, Thursday, begin a two-day workshop to validate and sign the Revised Code of Conduct and guidelines for civil society organizations desirous of providing civic education for the 2017 General Elections.
The Code 2013 Code of Conduct was crafted in 2013 by the Commission and CSOs and was amended in Gbarnga, Bong County, early this year to conform to current day realities.
The Code of Conduct for civil society organizations is a set of rules outlining the roles and responsibilities of CSOs in the impending 2017 General Elections.
The validation forum will bring together 100 representatives from more than 50 national and local civil society organizations involved with electoral activities in the fifteen counties of Liberia as well as the 19 Assistant Elections magistrates from the 19 counties of Liberia.
