The National Elections Commission has a vacancy for the position of a Procurement Assistant.
Job Profile:
This position is a non-management position responsible for ensuring optimum service delivery to internal/external customers and shall also provide valuable administrative assistance in the Procurement Section. These include:
- Assisting the Director of Procurement to discharge order follow-up and other procurement needs;
- Expediting goods and services.
Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement, Management, Public Administration, or a similar relevant degree;
- IT Literacy: able to use Microsoft Office at an intermediate level;
- Effective organizational skills and ability to handle large volume of work in an efficient and timely manner would be an advantage;
- Fluency in English and excellent oral and written communication skills;
- Must be able to work well under pressure;
- Must have the ability to work harmoniously with people of different backgrounds;
Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Procurement, the Procurement Assistant shall be responsible for the following duties:
- Creating purchase orders;
- Coordinating inspection and logistics activities between suppliers and prime vendors;
- Expediting the procurement of goods and services in a timely manner;
- Discharging order follow-ups
- Perform such other task(s) as required by the Director of Procurement.
