Job Position: Cartographer/Data/Geographic Information System (GIS) Technicians (5 Positions)
Institution: National Elections Commission
Duty Station: Monrovia with regular travel to the Counties when required
Duration: 4 months based on performance and availability of funding
Supervisor: Geo-Information Service Director

The National Elections Commission, NEC, has vacancies for the position of Cartographer/Data/Geographic Information System (GIS) Technicians. Interested individuals are to submit their applications to the Human Resource Section.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Data and GIS preparations of administrative boundaries, localities and LISGIS pre-census National Geographic Planning datasets
- Validate administrative units’ inventories, boundaries and localities on data capture maps and listings with local authority in the counties;
- Perform data capture of the validated results on data capture maps and forms;
- Perform data entry and GIS digitization of the validated results into the NEC’s Delimitation Management Information System;
- Perform other data and GIS operations as may be required by the NEC GIS Director
Minimum Qualification and Experience required:
- Be a College graduate/Senior College student
- IT Literacy: able to use ArcGIS geographic information system software solution at an intermediate level;
- Data and Spatial management skills: able to perform data entry, and spatial/GIS digitization, processing and analysis;
- Experience in administrative boundary and locality desk mapping validation data capture, and data and spatial management of the results are essential;
- Must be able to work well under pressure and have the ability to multi task;
- Must have the ability to work harmoniously with local authority and people of different backgrounds;
