The National Elections Commission, NEC, has vacancies for the position of Assistant Geographic Information System (GIS) Data Collectors. Interested individuals are to submit their applications to the Senior Elections Magistrates offices in Bomi, Gbarpolu, Grand Cape Mount, and Montserrado counties. The NEC has Magisterial Officers in each of the four (4) Counties situated in Tubmanburg, Ropertsport, Bopolu, Bentol, and Brewerville.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as the assistant to Geographic Information System (GIS) Data Collector;
- Serve as the travel guide for the data collection team;
- Assist in data [Global Positioning System (GPS)] capture of the geographic coordinates of infrastructure and sites suitable to be utilized for voter registration centers (VRCs) for the 2023 Presidential and Legislative Election;
- Perform other tasks as may be required by the NEC.
Minimum Qualification and Experience required:
- Must have worked as an Elections Supervisor (ES) in at least one previous election conducted by the National Elections Commission;
- Must be a University graduate or Senior University student;
- Must have expert knowledge of the precise locations of infrastructure and sites utilized as voter registration centers (VRCs) in previous elections in the county/district;
- Must be computer literate;
- Must be able to use a digital device for field data capture at an intermediate level;
- Ability to travel within the county under challenging travel conditions is required;
- Must be able to work well under pressure;
- Must be able to multitask;
- Must have the ability to work harmoniously with local authorities and people from different backgrounds.
