The National Elections Commission (NEC), on August 31, 2020 issued a certificate of Accreditation to the Rainbow Alliance of seven Political Parties to contest as a registered Political entity in Liberia having met all legal requirements as laid down by law. The Rainbow alliance includes Victory for Change Party (VCP), Vision for Liberia Transformation (VOLT), Democratic Justice Party (DJP), Movement for Economic Empowerment (MOVEE), Redemption Democratic Congress (RDC), the Union for Liberian Democrats (ULD), and the True Wing Party (TWP). Performing the Certification Ceremony, the Chairperson of the NEC Hon. Davidetta Browne Lansanah said the Rainbow Alliance has met the requirements under the 1986 Elections Law specifically under section 8.5 and is deemed qualified to participate in the electoral process. Responding, the Chairman of Rainbow Alliance Reginald B Goodridge Sr. thanked the NEC and promised that the Rainbow Alliance will remain a responsible Political Alliance under the laws of Liberian. Chairman Goodridge noted that his Alliance has decongested the Political space for management of our elections.
